The music stars with a simple what seems like piano tune, which doesn't sound dangerous or scary, almost peaceful and calming which is surprising considering the genre of the film
Along with the piano tune which sounds just like things are moving on, still not a distressing tune, you get the sound of birds flying, showing nature, but possibly showing to the audience that the birds are flying away?
"morning new" You hear a news woman talking happily and what seems normally which doesn't go along with the picture, there are a lot of repeats of "good morning" after this which give the audience a sense of beginning, still happy and chirpy at this point
The news reports interrupt over each other and sound like normal news but you start to hear a specific subject about weather? the world?
Then the first main news report you hear on the dolphins turning up dead, this DOES go along with what you see which really make the audience focus on what their hearing, this doesn't sound like normal everyday news? you start the hear of the danger the film is about
The news reports stop being interrupting over each other and there is a picture to go along with each one
There is also a subject you start hearing about which could be dangerous "CO2 emissions" then someone being interviewed saying "there is no threat" "trying to determine the cause of death" These news report aren't something the audience would be used to hearing everyday so they start to feel a sense of danger, although the reports are trying to reassure its fine, the audience start to know what
This is very effective along with the music still being calming, a big contrast
A news report on the UN is heard and things are getting more rapid and dangerous as what started off with a happy "good morning" turns into you hearing a man saying we are in danger and there are UN restrictions
The music starts getting faster and more added to it creating a sense of desperation and along with the violent scenes your seeing at the same time the audience can feel the tension rising so much until..
there is a break at the end. Just before it gets too tense, the drums drop, the bass goes away and were back to the contrasting piano tune the calming one which has kept through the whole time. very dramatic and very effective, we want to use this idea in our own film.
you need to complete work on your evaluations now Vicky.
